Idris Elba Confirms Nelson Mandela Biopic

He will play the iconic civil rights leader

Idris Elba is about to take his career to the next level by entering into the biopic arena.

The Golden Globe-winning actor has been tapped to play Nelson Mandela in an untitled project based on his autobiography, "The Long Walk To Freedom," which spans his early years and the 27 years spent in prison.

In an interview with Hip Hollywood, Elba confirmed that he will be playing the iconic political figure, saying, "This role is where my head is geared to this summer."
