Jaleel White Talks New Hosting Gig, But Says Daughter Can't Watch Reality TV

The DWTS exile and TV host says stories are still manipulated
Jaleel White followed in the tradition of “Dancing With the Stars” this season - i.e., he’s one of the good dancers who got the boot too early - but despite that, the former child star seems to be making a strong comeback to the spotlight.
The 35-year-old actor landed a new gig hosting "Total Blackout," a competition show airing on Syfy which places contestants in total darkness to compete in various challenges. Ironically, Urkel White isn’t a fan of all things reality TV. He recently sat down for an interview with The Grio and talked about how his 2-year-old daughter will not be watching shows like “Basketball Wives” when she’s old enough.
He said, “I'm not the biggest fan of reality TV because people at home don't realize it's not reality. They're still telling stories, they're still manipulating the stories. I think it's bad for society, personally. I don't watch none of that, and it will be blocked. My daughter won't be watching it either.”

Well said, Mr. White. Anyway, he also revealed other interesting tidbits during the interview. He talked about the fact that he was devastated when he lost the role of “Rudy” on “The Cosby Show” to Keshia Knight Pulliam.
Despite the negative press White has received about his alleged anger and outbursts, he seems to have a good head on his shoulders. And in case you’re curious, see below for a couple of snippets from “Total Blackout:”
Jaleel White discusses the show:
Warning: The rest of these clips contain some strong language, so put those headphones in if you’re at work.
After seeing what the show is about, I agree with Jaleel White. I’d love to see some celebrities do this, too! Can you imagine Sherri Shepherd or Niecy Nash competing? Yaaaaasss!
They lost me with those spiders and waterbugs, but watching other people be tortured would be amusing. I’m not exactly hooked but I’ll check it out from time to time. I’m definitely watching if they get said celebrities on board.
