3 Reasons Why (We and) Lamar Odom Loves Khloe Kardashian

It seems she has a lot to do with keeping those sparks flying.

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom seemed like an unlikely pair when they married after only knowing each other a month, but surprisingly they’re going on 3 years of marital bliss. And, based on this new season of their reality show Khloe & Lamar on E!, it seems like she has a lot to do with keeping those sparks flying.

Here are 3 reasons why Lamar (and Khloe's fans, too) stays in love with her:

She’s Brutally Honest, But With Love

Sometimes Khloe’s mouth gets her into trouble with her family and friends, but they always appreciate her honesty and compassion. For example, Khloe was one of the first people to question the strength of her sister Kim and Kris Humphries’ relationship; she seemed obnoxious at the time but in hindsight, it showed that her intuition backs up her smart aleck-y mouth. It was big of her that she didn’t rub it in Kim’s face. That’s a quality that can carry a relationship far.

She’s Tough, But Also a Vulnerable Sweetheart

Khloe often puts up a tough girl exterior, but she’s also not afraid to show her tender side. In the first episode of this season, Khloe was caught between her brother Robert and husband Lamar’s petty feud and wanted desperately for them to patch things up. It was so hurtful for her to see two people that she loved be at odds, that she devised a plan to get them to come together and hopefully make peace. It didn’t work, but Khloe’s actions were sweet; it showed how far she’s willing to go in order for the people she loves most to be happy.

She Caters to Her Hubby, But Remains Independent

Khloe and Lamar got a lot of flack for getting married so fast but, so far, they’ve been able to make it work. Part of what keeps the sparks flying in their relationship is that Khloe puts extra effort in to keep the flame going (hence the fact that she’s willing to move around the country with him, play sexy dress-up, and even go as far as ordering sex swings and other bizarre gadgets for their love life). It’s not just a woman’s job to cater, because relationships take work on both parts. However, Khloe is admirable because she has her own money, career and knows how to devote enough time to her relationship so that it stays interesting. That’s a true independent woman.
