Does Kanye Care? Kim Kardashian Reveals Parents are Republicans
Reality star invited by Fox News to White House Correspondents Dinner
Turns out it’s not completely odd that right-wing media outlet Fox News invited Kim Kardashian and “momager” Kris Jenner as guests to the White House Correspondents Association Dinner on Saturday night. Evidently the Kardarshian clan are right wingers themselves — at least some of them.
“Our parents are complete Republicans,” Kim Kardashian told website Politico.com on the red carpet for the star-studded political event.
Kris Jenner enthusiastically praised Fox on the red carpet. When asked if she watches Fox News at home, she answered, “You bet. It’s on every TV.”
This marks the second time members of the Kardashian family have attended the correspondents dinner. “I’m so grateful to Fox for the invite,” Kim Kardashian told Us magazine. “It’s always a fun night.”
But Kardashian told Politico.com that, unlike her parents, she’s a Democrat. She was also open about her plans to run for mayor of Glendale, Calif., a Los Angeles suburb with a substantial Armenian population. Kardashian and three of her siblings are of Armenian descent and she announced on an unaired episode of E! reality show “Khloe & Lamar” her intentions to run for mayor of the city in about five years “because it’s, like, Armenian town.”

When news broke about Kardashian’s intentions a few weeks ago, however, Glendale spokesman Tom Lorenz told the Los Angeles Times, “No. 1, you don’t run for mayor in the city of Glendale. It is not an elected position in the city. The elected positions are five City Council people, a city clerk and treasurer.” The council members then take turns serving as mayor.
Evidently, Kardashian didn’t get the memo. When Politico.com asked her if she were still considering a mayoral run in Glendale, she replied, “I always set my goals really high. …Stay tuned.”
