It’s time for Congress to enact a ban on assault weapons, Democratic California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said Sunday on Meet the Press. Feinstein has been a leading advocate for gun-control reform on Capitol Hill. “I’m going to introduce in the Senate, and the same bill will be introduced in the House, a bill to ban assault weapons,” Feinstein says. The senator’s support for a revival of the ban on high-powered guns comes amid demands for stricter regulations from politicians including Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
