Three months after Superstorm Sandy created havoc on much of the Northeast, Congress yesterday sent an emergency relief measure to President Obama for his signature. The President said he, “commends Congress for giving the families what they deserve, and I will sign the bill into law as soon as it hits my desk.” Despite some opposition from conservatives concerned about adding to the national debt, the Senate cleared the bill. The storm caused more the 130 deaths and was responsible for tens of billions of dollars in property damage.
