Antoine Walker trustee claims she illegally took money from broke ex-fiancee
Former NBA star Antoine Walker is so broke that people are getting sued for standing too close to him.
A trustee for Walker has filed suit against his ex-fiancee and Basketball Wives reality TV star Evelyn Lozada, claiming that she took $560,000 from him, even though both of them knew he was going belly up.
Walker, who earned over $110 million during his NBA career, filed for bankruptcy last year. The bankruptcy trustee says that Walker gave Lozada the money, and she accepted, in an attempt to hid the money from creditors. The trustee also claims that Lozada used the money to fund her Miami-based shoe store Dulce.
Lozada says that she used money she received from pawning her engagement ring to start the store, not the money she is accused of taking. She also insists that she didn't know Walker was so deep in debt.
Walker says that he gave her the money to help pay her bills.
In addition to going bankrupt, Walker is also on five years probation attempting to pay off a nearly $800k Las Vegas gambling debt with a bad check.
