Retail chain closes 250 stores, plans to close more
Good news, pretty soon you won't have to deal with dumbfounded Best Buy customer service reps anymore. Because most likely, Best Buy is about to leave your neighborhood altogether.
The retail giant has revealed their plans to close 250 stores this year and every year that follows in efforts to focus on their online sales to compete with sites like Amazon.com.
Best Buy once bragged that having a brick-and-mortar was better than being online because people still wanted customer service. But the reality is that people would rather find an answer on Google than talk to a guy in a blue shirt that doesn't know what they're doing.
The news also comes after Best Buy experienced drops in overall sales and revenue generated during the holiday season. Often times, people simply enter the store to look at an item, and then go buy it online.
