Black South African Gets Life for Killing White Supremacist

Self-defense claim didn't help farmworker’s case
Chris Mahlangu has been sentenced to life for murdering South African white supremacist leader Eugene Terreblanche. Mahlangu, a 29-year-old black farmworker, had a dispute with Terreblanche over wages, but claimed self-defense in the violent exchange that killed him. The convicted murderer also claimed he had been sodomized by Terreblanche, an argument the judge rejected during defense proceedings. Mahlangu said he doesn’t feel wrong for ridding the world of a man some called a monster. Twenty white protesters, with a black man with a rope around his neck, called for Mahlangu’s hanging.
