Brooklyn Nets Player Questioned By Police For Sexual Assault
Andre Blatche may have been in wrong place at wrong time.
Brooklyn Nets center Andre Blatche dodged a bullet. He was questioned by Philadelphia police for his alleged involvement in a sexual assault incident, but his name has now been cleared.
While in town to play the Philadelphia 76ers, Blatche and a group of party goers reportedly took a 21-year old woman from a local strip club to his hotel suite. The woman tells police that she was raped by one man, but had consensual sex with the another. Blatche was in the suite the entire time.
However, after an investigation, Philadelphia police have determined that Blatche had nothing to do with the rape, saying he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The incident is the latest in a checkered past for Blatche. During his seven years playing for the Washington Wizards, he was shot in a robbery attempt, arrested for soliciting prostitutes and constantly criticized for sub-par play and being out of shape. He was looking to turn his career around with Brooklyn and was just awarded a guaranteed contract the day before this incident took place.
