Brooklyn Street Drifter Charged With Sexual Assault
Parents alerted about man lurking near schools
A well-identified Brooklyn street drifter was arrested and charged with sexually harassing young schoolgirls in the Williamsburg area.
The Daily News reported, Lawrence LaDouceur — dubbed the Bedford ranter by Williamsburg locals — allegedly approached six teens outside their Middle School asking for sex on three different occasions last month.
He told one 12-year-old girl, “I’m going to rape you,” then walking away. On another occasion, he approached another girl and said, ““If you have sex with me, I would love you more and make my parents proud.”
He was often spotted lurking around the Middle School, standing outside the school’s fence. He allegedly tried to grab four girls in the schoolyard during recess, touching them on their shoulders and backs, the Daily News reported.
Several of the young girls told their parents, who alerted the police.
Police picked up LaDouceur last week on misdemeanor charges of harassment and acting in a manner “injurious to a child.”
