Loud, Inconsiderate Cellphone Behavior on the Decline
4 months ago
Can you hear me now? No? Good.
Inconsiderate cellphone behavior is "less common" than it used to be, according to the Pew Research Center. But not by much. The study shows that a combined 25 percent of adults say they "rarely" and "never" encounter loud, irritating cellphone users, but a combined 74 percent say they still do "frequently" and "occasionally." Still, it's been getting better over the years; just looking at those who reported "frequent" interaction, 50 percent said so in March 2006 and 39 percent said so in April 2012.The data could be due to the rise of texting, a much quieter activity. Or perhaps we just notice this kind of behavior less, because it's so common. (Today)
