Drunk MLB Player Delmon Young Arrested for Beating Man
Detroit Tigers star arrested outside of a New York hotel
If you thought Detroit Tigers player Delmon Young was just a slugger on the field, you have something else coming.
The Tigers young outfielder was collared by police early Friday morning after he assaulted a man outside of his hotel, according to the CBS Sports.
Young, who was reportedly drunk, shoved an unidentified man to the ground at 2:40 a.m. this morning.
He was taken to a local hospital for detox because he was so heavily intoxicated. He was then booked on assault charges at a nearby precinct.
It is unclear whether Young will play in the Tigers three-game series starting tonight at Yankee Stadium against the New York Yankees.
Young was once suspended for 50 games in the minor leagues for throwing a bat at an umpire in 2006. Since that accident, Young hasn't had any on or off the field incidents worth mention.
He is hitting .242/.311/.333 with one home run and five RBI through 18 games for the Tigers this season.
