Four couples have date night with the First Family

Earlier this month, four couples had the opportunity to have a “date night” with the Obamas.

As the couples sat around the table eating dinner, they shared stories on their marriage, kids and struggles in life.

The conversations were very candid. One contestant almost brought the President to tears when he explained how the health care legislation had helped his son get brain surgery.

On a lighter note, President Obama shared where he took Michelle for their first date: “Our first date, I took her to the art museum, or the art institute, so I was trying to impress her and show her I was a real culturally sensitive guy. And it worked. So I’m giving tips to the young men out there…,”

He also talked about his experience raising girls and the time he unsuccessfully tried to braid his youngest daughter’s hair before her ballet rehearsal.
