After vendetta against LAPD, fugitive’s killing spree comes to charred end
He had supporters and haters, but ex-LAPD cop Christopher Dorner’s vendetta against the law enforcement agency is officially over. Medical examiners on Thursday used dental records to positively identify Dorner’s remains, which were removed from the burned-out ruins of a California mountain cabin where the 33-year-old made his last stand on Tuesday. A deadly shootout ended with the cabin going up in flames. Dorner, who also served is an officer in the U.S. Navy reserves, was accused of killing four people, including three law enforcement personnel in Southern California. An angry manifesto posted last week on Doner’s Facebook page claimed he had been wrongly terminated from the Los Angeles Police Department. He vowed to seek deadly revenge on police officers and their families. He had been on the run for nearly a week. (Reuters)
