Google Wants 90 Percent of Microsoft Office Users

Launches new comparable services to do so
Google is targeting Microsoft Office users, and wants the majority of them to switch sides. This past year, Google has launched several new offerings, including its storage service Drive, and Compute Engine, its "cloud" platform that competes directly with Microsoft Azure. It also began charging companies to use Google Apps. Google VP Amit Singh believes they can now dominate the enterprise market – and effectively steal Office users away from Microsoft. “Our goal is to get to the 90 percent of users who don’t need to have the most advanced features of Office. This was the year where we broke the barrier and got large-scale customer adoption. We know the gaps between our features and theirs. We’re improving them week by week. We’re going to get to the 90 percent," he said. (Forbes)
