Google Working On Eliminating Passwords

Tech giant wants to make smartcard keys.
Engineers at Google want to make you life a little easier than it already is. How? By eliminating the threat of computer hackers stealing your passwords.
The tech giant recently revealed their intentions to create software that will allow smartphones and smart cards to act as keys to all of your devices.
"We'd like your smartphone or smartcard-embedded finger ring to authorize a new computer via a tap on the computer, even in situations in which your phone might be without cellular connectivity," says Google Vice President of Security Eric Grosse and Engineer Mayank Upadhyay.
The idea comes at a time where experts say passwords are at their weakest, and hackers are at their strongest.
