Pay Attention: Women Tend to Miss Signs of Heart Attack
3 months ago
Symptoms may not be the same as mens
Heart disease is the #1 killer of women, but many fail to identify the symptoms of a heart attack. Though chest pain or pressure is the most common symptom of a heart attack for both genders, women experience it as a dull or uncomfortable pain, whereas men often feel the classic pressure of an "elephant sitting on their chest," according to Dr. Jennifer Ashton. Also, women tend to experience symptoms that resemble that of a virus like the flu, such as fatigue, shortness of breath, nausea, dizziness and difficulty sleeping, but often credit it to hormonal issues or ignore it to put others first.
