Horror Hits Aurora, Leaves Four Dead

The gunman held standoff for nearly six hours before officials moved in.
Following a standoff and shootout with a gunman in Aurora, Colorado, police found three people dead inside a suburban home on Saturday. A woman inside the home had been able to escape uninjured and told police a male inside had fired shots and that she saw three people “who appeared lifeless.” SWAT teams, hostage negotiators, and about 40 officers were called onto the scene.
The man, who opened fire on officers twice during the nearly six-hour long standoff, was killed when officers decided to move into the house. Investigators confirmed three people were killed; their relationship to the gunman was still unclear.
Aurora was thrust into the spotlight last July when a gunman opened fire on a movie theater, killing 12 people and wounding 58 others. (NY Daily News)
