Boys’ mother tired to escape flood waters in an SUV
A mother in Staten Island, New York received the worst news possible, since trying to evacuate from raging storm waters with her little boys during Superstorm Sandy. On Thursday, police informed Glenda Moore that they’d found her sons Brandon, 2, and Connor, 4, lifeless under debris and trees about 20 yards apart from each other. Moore, on Monday night, attempted to drive her sons to a relative’s home in Brooklyn, but their SUV stalled on a flooded Staten Island street. Moore pulled Brandon and Connor out of the vehicle, but lost her grip in the water and the boys floated out of her reach. Cops said Moore banged on the doors of nearby homes, desperately seeking help. People who answered turned her away. Moore was left outside to ride out the storm, clinging to a post on a porch. She and her husband, Damien – a city sanitation worker who was in Brooklyn during the storm – stopped to make funeral arrangements for the boys on Thursday. (New York Post)
