Instagram Moving Profiles to the Web

The company announced yesterday it would be moving profiles to its website

Instagram - it's not just for your smartphone anymore. The photo-sharing app created for mobile phones will launch Instagram profiles online over the next few days.

The company was purchased recently by Facebook for $1 billion and announced the move to the web on Monday.

Prior to the big announcement, Instagram users' profiles existed only on mobile applications. Now, users will have a website with a profile photo, bio and a collection of the pics they've recently shared on Instagram.

Once Instagram has created a user's profile it will be available at instagram.com/[Username], similar to the way they're displayed on Twitter.
