Instagram Now Has the Right to Sell Your Photos

And you won't be compensated
Instagram has changed its privacy policy. Starting January 16, the photo-sharing service has the right to sell user's pictures without payment or notification. Unless Instagram users delete their accounts before the January deadline, they cannot opt out. Under the new policy, Instagram photos can be licensed to companies and organizations for advertisements or other purposes, so if you took some pics at a resort, the hotel can now pay to use them in a brochure. Additionally, the new policy appears to make Instagram immune to pending lawsuits, saying, "we will not be liable for any use or disclosure of content." Lastly, Instagram writes "you acknowledge that we may not always identify paid services, sponsored content, or commercial communications as such." (CNet)
