They say diversity brings innovation
Intel was honored Tuesday for its efforts to employ women in technical positions. Nearly 28 percent or more of the company's roughly 100,000 workers are women. The awards were given by the Anita Borg Institute, a nonprofit organization that promotes the advancement of women in computer science and engineering. Intel's Command Presence Workshop helps mid-level women increase their visibility and effectiveness, and the Women Principal Advertisement Engineers and Fellows Forum brings senior individual contributors together each year. Additionally, Intel's "voluntary turnover rate" of 2 percent over the last three years is one of the lowest among corporations. "We are incredibly excited about winning the award. Diversity brings creativity and more innovative solutions," said Kim Warren-Martin, Intel's global women's initiative manager. (Mercury News)
