Incarcerated rapper says he's enjoying the new friends he's made behind bars
Rapper Ja Rule is currently serving a two-year sentence at New York State's Midstate Correctional Facility, stemming from a 2007 gun possession charge. But he's making the best of it.
"This place is amazing," tells Rule, real name Jeffery Atkins, to the NY Daily News in an exclusive interview.
Why is he so excited about prison? Well, it's not the food. It's the new friends he's made during his government-sponsored vacation.
He's made friends corrupts politicians and greedy corporate execs like Alan Hevesi and Dennis Kozlowski. He says the two men, who are both college graduates, encouraged him to pursue higher education when he gets out of prison and to invest in airline stock.

“It’s funny,” says Rule, who dropped out of high school but earned his GED while behind bars and will start taking college-level courses this month. “We’re from totally different walks of life. But when you’re here, you’re here.”
Good for you Ja Rule. Since prison sounds like a fun resort to you, we're sure the state won't mind finding a couple reasons to make your stay even longer.
Kids, stay in school, and out of jail.
