PSU Students Guard Paterno Statue After Vow to Take it Down
10 months ago
Will his statue still be up come football season?
Penn State University students will not let former coach Joe Paterno's statue come down, according to The Daily Collegian.
A vigil was held around the statue earlier this week after a plane flew over campus reading: "Take the statue down or we will."
"We're there to have some numbers around the statue in case anyone wants to come by and vandalize it," a vigil organizer told the AP.
The sculptor of the statue said he sees both sides of the story in regards to whether to keep the statue or not.

Penn State officials are scheduled to make the decision within the next 10 days about the statue's future.
Calls for the statue to be removed arose after a report was released detailing how Paterno and numerous other university officials knew about Jerry Sandusky sexually abusing children.
Flowers and notes of support have been placed at the statue's feet.
