Finally! Resorts to Begin Offering Cooking Classes for Kids

Now they can do more than hit the pool & game room
Upscale resorts have begun offering culinary classes, but not to the people who likely paid for the trip -- to their kids tagging along. In recent months, the Peninsula Beverly Hills has launched the Young Pastry Chefs program where kids take hands-on baking classes with the executive pastry chef and leave with recipes; the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club on Cape Cod offers "Chef for a Day" classes for kids as young as 4 who can collect fresh vegetables and then prepare their own personal pizzas; and this spring, New Jersey's Crystal Springs Resort is launching a program that will include a pasta class, gelato class, and fishing and weekend farm trips. "To have the ability to help children learn where their food comes from, how to cook and that cooking is fun, as well as to learn how to eat right at a young age is key to our mission and important to me since I'm a father too," said Crystal Springs Resort Vice President of Hospitality Robby Younes.
