One Half of Longest Married Couple Dies

Survived by 18 kids, grandkids and more

The wife of the longest married couple in America has died. Theresa Faiss passed Sunday in Las Vegas at the age of 97. She and husband Wilbur, 101, were married for 79 years. They were honored in January by the Worldwide Marriage Encounter. Earlier this year, President Barack Obama had planned to give them a public acknowledgement during a campaign appearance in Nevada, but they were unable to attend. Family members say they met the president during a later visit. She is survived by three sons, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. (NY Daily News)
