Los Angeles Named 'Smelliest' City On the Planet

GQ says La La Land smells funny

To be known as "the City of Angels," you'd think that Los Angeles would smell like manna from heaven right? Well, to let GQ magazine tell it, the place smells more like the city of fallen angels.

The mens style mag recently shared a list of what they called "The Smelliest Cities on the Planet" and L.A. landed at the top of the list, describing it with, "the lonely smell of the marine layer burns off and you get this flashy perfume of hot asphalt, engines, and sun block that you can find nowhere but in L.A." They also pay L.A. a backhanded compliment when they say the car exhaust is "in its strange industrial way, beautiful."

New Orleans, San Francisco, Dallas and Pleasantville, NY are the other American cities to land on the list while London, Rome, Bogota, Mumbai and Mombasa round out the rest of the list.
