Robbers ordered man to lie down in the street before he was struck.
A man lying in the street at the request of would-be robbers was killed early Sunday morning, after a startled woman drove over him unintentionally.
Prince George County police said masked robbers armed with handguns approached several people on the street and ordered them to lie down, the Washington Post reports.
Some time after the ordering of the men to the ground, the robbers approached and startled a woman sitting in a nearby vehicle. She accelerated and drove over a man who was lying in front of the car.

The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police spokesman called the death a “freak accident” and said the woman did not appear to know the people who were ordered to lie in the street.
The robbers fled the scene. No description was available.
