McDonald's Removes Fries From Dollar Menu, Five Healthy Alternatives
Don't get bitter, get better with these choices
Apparently people have been raising hell since McDonald's announced that they will be removing small fries and drinks from their Dollar Menu. While the the convenience of paying just one dollar and fries' distinctive taste will never get old, you'd be a fool to not realize that the fries themselves don't get old either. Think about it, that french fry that you dropped in between your car seat cushions looks exactly the same way it did six months ago. You really want that in your stomach?
So, don't think of this as a sad occassion or Mickey D's messing up a good thing. Instead, take this chance to find some better things to do with your dollar. Here are some suggestions.
1. EAT A BANANA
THESE THINGS COST LESS THAN $1 MOST PLACES
On average, bananas cost around $2 for a bunch six, averaging out to about 35 cents per banana. If you don't have $2 on you, you really don't have any business being out of the house anyway. But since you are, go ahead and pluck a couple off. Sure, the cashier may look at you crazy for buying two bananas, but trust us, your body will thank you for it later. Plus, bananas help out with the sex life too (do not use your imagination) as they boost muscle strength. Last time we checked, McDonald's french fries just make you sleepy.

2. DEEZ NUUUUUTS
NUTS ALSO BURN FAT
Everybody loves peanut M&M's, but don't be afraid to just get a pack of peanuts sometimes. Most gas stations have these for less than a dollar. Meaning they cost less than most candy and that Black N' Mild you were about to buy.
3. MIX THINGS UP
If you need a little more flavor than plain peanuts, try some trail mix. It's a good quick snack, that also appeals to sweet tooth since most of them have small chocolate candies and raisins too.
PEANUTS, RAISINS, CHOCOLATE..ALL FOR ONE BUCK?
These are pretty cheap at the gas station. They can get a bit pricey if you buy a jug from the grocery store, but it lasts long.
4. SET THE BAR
DON'T FRONT LIKE THESE THINGS AREN'T GOOD
Depending on what kind of neighborhood you live in, you might not even see granola bars in your neighborhood corner store. Sometimes if they are there, they are hidden amongst things that nobody ever buys from corner stores, like cereal. But, they are worth looking for. Basic granola bars are usually under a dollar. Fancy ones may cost a few cents extra.
5. YO! YO! YO!
MICKEY D'S IS AT LEAST TRYING TO DO GOOD
Ok so, you didn't get the memo that fries are no longer on the Dollar Menu. You don't feel like leaving after standing in line so long. We feel you. So, if you are just hell bent on giving McDonald's your hard earned dollar, you can always give their yogurt a try. We're not saying that they are nutrition experts or that you should trust the same place that makes the mystery meat McRib with your health, but this at least appears to be a better choice than fries. FYI, most yogurts have around 99 calories. McDonald's yogurt has 160. That's more than a cup of Dr. Pepper. So use that info as you may.
