With doctors' approval, bumping phones exchanges STD status -- but not any positive results.
A new application gives smartphone users the ability to exchange their STD-free status and contact card with their partners simply by tapping their phones together. Sexually Active Young's developed the application and calls the feature “safe bumping”, designed to promote safer sex. Users can ask their doctors to confirm their status through the MedXSafe app. However, if the user tests positive for an STD, no record is shown—to protect user privacy. Nearly 19 million new STD cases occur every year, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. (Clutch Magazine)
