Oprah's O Magazine Takes Plunge in 2012 Ad Sales

Is Oprah's empire crumbling?

First it was the OWN Network. Now another part of Oprah's empire is struggling — O Magazine.

The queen of daytime's magazine reported a loss in 2012 ad page sales.

According to the Publishers Information Bureau, O was down 24.1 percent in ad page sales from 2011.

Her sales in 2011 were $48.1 million and in 2012 they are $34.2 million, so far. In the second half of 2011, sales declined by 32 percent despite the industry standard during that period being 10 percent.

Recently, Oprah laid off 30 members of her staff at her struggling OWN Network. She also canceled Rosie O' Donnell's late night talk show due to struggling ratings.

Just last month, the media mogul admitted to the difficulties of launching the network.

"Had I known it was this difficult, I might have done something else," Oprah candidly said. "If I were writing a book, I might call it '101 Mistakes," she said.

While she laid off many at the network, there is no word yet as to if the magazine will incur a similar restructuring.
