President Obama's Uncle Wins New Deportation Hearing

Onyango Obama was ordered to return to Kenya
President Obama’s uncle has won a new deportation hearing after an appeals board ordered the agency running the U.S. immigration court system to review his case. Last year, Onyango Obama, the half brother of the president’s late father, was arrested for drunk driving, revealing that he had violated a longstanding order to return to Kenya. In 1992, after failing to renew an application to remain in the U.S., he was ordered by an immigration judge to leave. He later sought to reverse the deportation order. Onyango's sister Zeituni, the president’s aunt, made headlines too in 2010 when she won the right to stay in the United States after an earlier deportation order. (Boston)
