A judge panel said the California educator should not be in the classroom
A middle-school science teacher fired after her students discovered that she had appeared in hardcore pornographic movies will not get her job back, a panel of judges in California has ruled. Former porn actress Stacie Halas had hoped to set a precedent for people looking to escape an embarrassing or controversial past, but the three-judge commission firmly decided that Halas should not be in a classroom. "Although her pornography career has concluded, the ongoing availability of her pornographic materials on the Internet will continue to impede her from being an effective teacher and respected colleague," Judge Julie Cabos-Owen said in the 46-page decision issued last Friday. Halas lawyer Richard Schwab, on Tuesday, said she is “representative of a lot of people who may have a past that may not involve anything illegal or anything that hurts anybody." (Associated Press)
