Ramarley Graham Shooting: NYPD Officer Turns Himself in
11 months ago
Officer to be charged with manslaughter.
NYPD police officer Michael Haste turned himself in this morning for the controversial murder of Bronx teenager Ramarley Graham, according to the New York Post.
Haste is expected to be arraigned today in Bronx Criminal Court.
A short time after Haste's arrest, family friends, already outside the court, greeted their allies with chants: “Justice for Ramarley … jail the cops!”
A Bronx grand jury will hand up indictments today against Haste in connection with the shooting death of Graham, 18, on Feb. 2, sources said.
Haste, a four-year NYPD veteran, was part of a narcotics unit that followed Graham into his Wakefield home believing he had a gun, officials said. He will be charged with manslaughter after shooting the unarmed teenager in his bathroom in front of his little brother and grandmother.
