The Secret Service's problems continue.
An undercover agent for the federal government agency hit and killed a Brooklyn, New York mother of five as she crossed a busy intersection Thursday, according to the New York Daily News.
The woman, 47-year-old Maria Tripp, was walking with her nephew and daughter when she was struck by the car. She was on her way to pick up her granddaughter. Tripp was taken to a local hospital where she died.
"They were just crossing the street and the mother got hit,” said one witness who did not want to be named. “She went up like 50 feet in the air,” he continued.
“She hit the ground and she wasn't moving at all. She was messed up, she was unconscious. "
“I saw her body on the sidewalk,” said Lisa Jones, 61, a nurse’s assistant. “She was face-down and oh my God, the blood."
The driver of the car remained at the scene. No criminality was suspected.
