Georgia Team Dedicates Game to Slain Team Member

Suspect arrested in shooting that occurred last Saturday

A football player for a semi-pro team was shot to death this past Saturday in Aiken, South Carolina.

The player, Vincent Brown, who was described as a "young guy chasing his dreams," was murdered by 24-year-old Ryan Keith Doolittle.

"You figure none of that would have happened to him. He's just real quiet and did his job. He loved football," said Assistant Head Coach Robert Jenkins. "He's not the type for any of this to happen. You wouldn't think this would happen to Vinnie, out of anybody," he said.

Brown was an Aiken High School graduate who worked at Home Depot and was in school at ASU studying business.

His passion, though, was football.

"We could talk about football all day. We played the video game Madden every day almost, if we weren't out on the football field at practice," said Fabian Beard Jr., a linebacker with the Pirates.
