LMFAO's "I'm Sexy and You Know It" Earns 1st Grader Suspension

Boy who sang song lyrics to female classmate suspended for 3 days.

If a six-year-old thinks he's sexy and knows it, he better not say it out loud at this Colorado school.

D'Avonte Meadows, a first grader at Aurora Elementary School, was suspended for 3 days after singing the popular line from group LMFAO's song "I'm Sexy And I Know It" to a female student while standing in a school lunch line.

The mother of Meadows believes the song quote didn't warrant a suspension because she believes it is not a case of sexual harassment.

"I could understand if he was fondling her, looking up her skirt, trying to look in her shirt. That, to me, is sexual harassment," Stephanie Meadows, D'Avonte’s mother told 7 News. "I'm just, I'm floored. They're going to look at him like he's a pervert. And it's like, that’s not fair to him."

D'Avonte has a history of suspensions as he did a "booty shake" in front of the same girl's face.

A North Carolina boy was suspended from a school last year for calling his teacher cute.

A district spokeswoman sent this response:"Aurora Public Schools is committed to providing equitable learning for all students. We have policies and protocol in place to prevent any disruption to the learning environment. Due to privacy laws, we are unable to discuss appropriate disciplinary consequences about a specific student," wrote Paula Hans, media relations specialist for Aurora Public Schools.
