Terry Jones blames the media coverage for painting Zimmerman as guilty
The pastor who made headlines last year when he held a "Quran Burning Day" is making himself the center of attention again.
The Gainesville, Florida pastor, Terry Jones, who leads a congregation of 50 is making his way down to Sanford to defend George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin case.
Zimmerman, who remains free, shot and killed unarmed 17-year-old black teenager Trayvon Martin on Feb 26. The killing has sparked a national outrage and calls for Zimmerman's arrest through protests across the country.
The radical pastor will be holding a rally outside of the Seminole County Criminal Courthouse on April 21st, according to the Sanford Herald.
Jones claims the media has painted a man who hasn't been proven guilty as guilty already. He also said the point of this rally was to "support Zimmerman's constitutional rights."
Close to a dozen black pastors and leaders have met with Justice Department officials about Jones' scheduled rally.
The last rally in Sanford was held this past Saturday by the NAACP and Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network.
