Check Out Tia Norfleet, the First Black Female NASCAR Driver
Does she have what it takes to succeed?
As Danica Patrick continues to knock down doors for female NASCAR drivers, Tia Norfleet may be able to walk in and redecorate completely.
Norfleet is the first ever African-American NASCAR driver.
According to her bio she was introduced to racing by her father Bobby Norfleet who was a fairly prominent driver himself throughout the '90s, and is credited with helping the sport gain traction in the African-American community.
He was also mentored by black racing legend Wendell Scott.
Norfleet just recently got her license to participate in NASCAR so as of now she is primarily taking part in special events and has yet to release a race schedule, but keep an eye out for it. Until then watch this video of her explaining how and why she got in to the sport.
Check her out on Facebook.
