Twitter Attacks Geraldo Over Trayvon 'Hoodie' Remarks
1 year ago
Talk show host said the hoodie is what got Trayvon Martin killed
This morning on Fox News' Fox & Friends telecast, Geraldo Rivera had some sound advice for Americans who don't want to see another Trayvon Martin tragedy. Don't wear hoodies, they will get you killed. He even took to his twitter page to enforce his point.
"Trayvon killed by a jerk w a gun but black & Latino parents have to drill into kids heads: a hoodie is like a sign: shoot or stop & frisk me," he said.

In return, people on twitter gave Rivera some advice of their own, STFU.
Rivera is currently trending on the site as people take turns laying into the controversial talk show host.
At one point The Roots drummer Questlove got at him for his remarks.
"You're basically saying there is a dress code for black & latin youth to put others at ease," he said, respectfully. "When will the day come in which WE'RE at ease? (i need hoodies to go to the movies/gym & other places idont wanna be recognized)."
"Geraldo Rivera of Fox News has lost his mind. He's saying #Trayvon Martin wearing a hoodie helped cause his own death?," says newly re-instated CNN pundit Roland S. Martin, who knows a thing or two or putting a foot in his mouth on twitter.
ThinkProgress.org took a jab at the remark, tweeting out a photo of Rivera himself wearing a hoodie in a rainstorm, just as Trayvon was wearing.
Rivera has yet to admit that his stance is pretty questionable and insensitive. However, he is own son notified his father of just how stupid he sounds.
"My own son just wrote to say he's ashamed of my position re hoodies-still I feel parents must do whatever they can to keep their kids safe," he tweeted.
