Smartphones have greatest reach
There are now more Internet-connected devices in the United States than there are people. The number of gadgets in households, including smartphones, tablets, gaming consoles, laptop and desktop computers, totals 425 million, but there are only 311.5 million Americans. John Buffone of the NPD Group said the new means are "diminishing the computer's relevance" to the Internet and that "smaller screens, such as the smartphone, have the greatest reach now," but using the TV itself as an Internet device has yet to catch on.
