Usain Bolt Splits With White Girlfriend Days After Criticism

Track and Field star Usain Bolt has reportedly dumped his girlfriend Lubica Slovak after criticism about their relationship surfaced a month ago.

An article in the Jamaican Observer last month pictured the white Slovak and the black Bolt kissing.

Readers responded to the article calling him a "sell-out" and another rich black man "leaving black women for white women." They also called Slovak a "snowbunny."

Now, days after several other sites published the story, sources close to the couple say that Bolt and Slovak have called it quits after 6 months being together, according to Star. That reaction was almost as fast as one of his races.

“[Usain] opted to focus his energies on creating new records on the track,” said sources close to the athlete. “[He] is competing at the 2012 Olympics in the United Kingdom this summer and cannot afford any distraction at this time.”

Speculation has run rampant as to the reason for the breakup. Star reports that Bolt may have rekindled his love with Mizicann Evans, who is black and his first love.

“She remains a close friend of the family, and they are in constant touch,” said a friend of Bolt.
