Bronx, New York woman faces 25 years in jail if convicted
A Bronx woman who killed her boyfriend because he broke her iPhone is saying she still loves him, according to the New York Post.
“She says she loves him and she feels like s ---t, ” the 21-year-old cellmate, Michelle Rodriguez, said after being released on a shoplifting charge.
Jasmine Diaz, 25, ran down her 17-year-old boyfriend Franklyn Hernandez with an SUV after he accidentally damaged her iPhone.
“Franklyn jumped in front of the vehicle and I just kept going,” she told investigators, a prosecutor said in court.
She was held without bail after she was arraigned on manslaughter charges after she left the scene of the crime.
Diaz returns to court June 12 and faces a maximum of 25 years in jail.
