21-year-old Galicia Malone stopped by voting booth before going to hospital.

And you were complaining about standing in long lines?

21-year-old Galicia Malone of Dolton, Ill. was pregnant and on her way to give birth, but she had to make sure that she voted first. So with her contractions just five minutes apart, she stopped by her local polling place, voted and went on to the hospital.

“I never voted before, so this made a major difference in my life,” she said. “And I wanted this to be a stepping-stone for my daughter.”

Malone's water broke at 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, but she waited at home until her polling place opened so that she could go vote and head straight to the hospital afterwards.
