It may seem untrue, but the more you check your Facebook, the worse you feel about your well-being and your satisfaction with life, according to a study conducted by the University of Michigan.
Researchers are attributing this to the Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) theory, since users are constantly bombarded with pictures of friends and family at parties or trips. They also found that people spend more time on Facebook when they feel lonely.
The new phenomenon took us by surprise and individuals are still learning how to use the social network site.
