Can Twitter Hurt You?

While the average Twitter user is telling their followers what song they’re playing, snapping pics of their lunch, or retweeting a particularly grumpy looking cat, some users are employing the social networking site for some more recreational uses.
Most recently, Twitter has been employed by terrorists of all kinds. Political extremists, gangs, and your next door criminal are spreading their terror in 140 characters.
Criminologists aren’t fazed by this new trend. Extremist groups are doing everything they can spread propaganda, and the ease of social media makes it the best route.
Twitter isn’t letting this criminal activity slide though. In fact, they’re trying to moderate it. Most recently, Twitter has shut down about five different accounts linked to specific extremist groups. However, because anybody connected to the Internet can make a Twitter, regulation is getting tougher.
