Harvard Students Cheat?
Oh the blasphemy.
Some students at Harvard got blasted this past week in an anonymous survey by the university’s newspaper, The Crimson.
The email sent across campus asked incoming freshmen students if they ever cheated on exams before heading to the Ivy League school. Of the 80% of students who responded, 42% admitted to cheating.
Who were most likely to cheat? Recruited athletes and men.
You know, this isn’t the first time cheating has been referenced by the Ivy League.
Last year, an investigation concluded that dozens of students were plagiarizing answers on an intro course.
So, cheating isn’t new to American academia, but almost half of incoming freshmen admitting to cheating? It’s new to Harvard at least.
Did you ever cheat in high school? Would you admit it?
