If you have plans to travel over the holidays, you may way to book your tickets early this year. Holiday airfare is expected to rise by mid-October.
In order to increase profits, airlines have been cutting back tremendously on the number of flights. The problem is that demand is still the same.
The most expensive time to travel is the weekend following Thanksgiving. Flying back on Thanksgiving Day or the Friday after is less expensive.
For Christmas, the weekend before Christmas Day is typically the most expensive as well as the Saturday before and the Saturday after. Travelers on a budget should try to fly on days closest to Christmas.
New Year’s travelers are most likely to find the best deals on December 29 and return January 3.
