Texting Zones are All the Rage
LOL. Like. Totally.
New York is getting tired of seeing drivers on their phones. In order to keep the roads more safe for other motorists and cyclists, NY is putting their foot down.
The newly created “texting zone” allows text fanatics to pull over in order to use cell phones. The zones will be located in already existing rest stops and parking areas.
New York has already made harsher consequences for distracted drivers. New Jersey also made some critical and controversial texting-while-driving laws.
Distracted drivers account for more than 3,000 deadly accidents each year. The intent with the texting zones is to remind distracted drivers that they are, well…distracted, and can easily pull over if their text is that important.
What do you think of New York’s texting zones? Would you use a texting zone?
